Command and Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight Walkthrough Command and Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight Review News Videos
The mainstay of Command and Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight and the history of the series to have those legendary cut-scenes have always been simplistic at best, and historically that's part of the charm. In this final release the attempts at gravitas just make them seem desperate and actually horid to watch. The last edition to this franchise tosses out everything we could originally associate with the series. If you are a long-term C&C fan, then this game is simply going to put you off in the worst way.
It's not long before players are given a choice between staying the course with GDI or breaking away and following Kane which is to be expected of course. Don't expect an intricate story with intertwined campaigns that pits duty against morality. The chance to defect only happes one time in the entire duration of the game and once the players are locked into linear campaigns you are pretty much stuck in that decisions path storyline after that. Not too interesting either, and no one in the game will try to convince you to select one way or the other. Kind of a hopeless choice with no real reason. Sucks, and it's too bad, because there were a number of times when we felt somewhat ripped off with how a campaign was progressing and would have happily switched sides. The cinematic videos are now non-existant and instead changed for a lack of cinematics and instead some game-engine derived bull-sh*T. A lot of the dialogue is so cheesy that i'd rather watch a toothpick try acting that attempt to believe what's going on in the storyline. There's one scene in the GDI campaign where two of the actors are crammed shoulder-to-shoulder to fit on a view screen and stare blankly while reciting their lines as a character threatens them with a coup. However, it's worth noting that in order to get any real insight on who Kane is and what he's been doing on Earth for hundreds of years, you have to play the Nod campaign. The question is whether these upstanding old PC gamers are necessary sacrifices, because C&C4 does have a bigger picture in mind, rather than being about ruthless change for the sake of it. In an age where traditional RTS is fragmenting, fleeing from the old build-and-bash core to various extremes - Dawn of War II's role-playing, Supreme Commander 2's sandbox tech tree, StarCraft 2's absolute precision - EA is looking for a way to keep C&C relevant. C&C3 was retro and wild, Red Alert 3 was full-pelt silly and had co-op, but something had to change.
