All Gaming Sports Channel Begins Broadcasting
XLeague aims for sportsstyle presentation for their favorite games. Might be old news, but this is a new gaming channel which just launched on Sky either yesterday or the day before (channel 291). They seem to be focusing mainly on broadcasting online matches from various games. I've just been watching their little self-promotion video and noticed things like Halo 2, Gears of War, PGR3, Virtua Tennis 3 and Motorstorm among what they show. They also have a chart programme, and apparently there are going to be news shows as well. It certainly seems a lot more professional than previous efforts at a gaming channel, but their claim of being the UK's first dedicated gaming channel is a bit off taking the (admittedly awful) G@me Network into account (although I don't think that exists anymore). If you think youve got the chops, head on over to XLeagues signup page and turn those mad skillz into phatt lewt. But, (as GamesIndustry.biz reminds you) only gamers who have signed up to XLeagues subscription or payasyouplay services will be eligible to take part and you have to live in the UK. Boo. XLeague launches tomorrow Wednesday, May 16th on Sky channel 291.
