Chocobo Racing Bursts Out of the Gate!

Chocobo Racing has finally hit the world of Vanadiel and the community couldn't be more excited! Since its launch in late March, players can often be found visiting the official race paddocks and racing their days away. Chocobo Racing kicks off with a set of official races, where players race head to head against famous characters with the special guest announcers providing the commentary. Listening to Cid trash talk your chocobo while you race in the Bastok official race definitely encourages you to strive to win. The urge to show up all of the special racers is definitely propelling a lot of players through the official races.

Some players, having conquered the initial set of official races, have been spending their time doing the free runs to earn chocobucks. Using chocobucks to purchase chocobo food is fairly common now because of the resurgence of chocobo raising that developed out of the desire to have the best racing chocobo. Special chocobo feather dyes are also being purchased with the chocobucks, allowing players to dye their chocobos feathers for a certain amount of time. It's definitely nice for players that didn't get the color they originally wanted when they bred their chocobos.

Crafters too are enjoying the racing bug that has hit Vana'diel as there are numerous synthable items that can be used during the races. If your chocobo lacks in the speed department of a particular race, just equip a gysahl bomb to lower the speed of all the surrounding chocobos for a short time. Just don't forget to tip your friends that are kind enough to synthesize your racing weaponry!
