GAMEGUIDEDOG.COM IS PROUD to be able to provide the most complete and best online walkthrough strategy game guide for TUROK. Our WALKTHROUGH VIDEO GAME STRATEGY GUIDE is for the MICROSOFT XBOX 360 & SONY PS3 PLAYSTATION 3 Platforms.
Today, Game Guide Dog's owner David J Garfield had the opportunity to see the next-gen Turok for the first time.. "Being an avid support tech for the original series, all I could think was please god no… help us all! But I was extremely surprised with the advancements made to this overall style, story, and gameplay approach making the new Turok, something of a fav on my list this coming year!"
Lately, there's a trend of hitting the reset button on long-lasting franchises. Batman Begins was a great example on how a good franchise can be totally ruined and then make a triumphal comeback; forgetting there were previous movies before and starting all over again. That is the case in this new phase of the Turok franchise.
The first thing we learned today is that this fifth Turok game is not a continuation of the previous games, and in fact, completely drops the Valiant Comics' native American and Lost Land. Instead it puts you in the shoes of a retired black ops soldier that is forced to rejoin the Army to hunt down its former mentor.
This is gonna be a long day!
You are Joseph Turok and your mission is to join a team that will capture Roland Cain - a man wanted for war crimes who has gone rogue with its own group of soldiers.
In this new Turok game, there is no more time travel and interdimensional portals, but a sci-fi backdrop set 200 years into the future in which humans can travel through space. When intel discovers that Cain might be hidden on a distant planet, the army sends this special team to hunt down Cain and his soldiers.
On your arrival to the planet, you'll find out there's definitely something going on here being that the spaceship is shot down during your inspection. Get things even worse when you find out that in addition to Cain and his men, this planet in inhabited by huge dinosaurs that happen to be very smart and deadly.
The demo kicked off with Turok making its way into this valley in the middle of a jungle. The environment looked really good, which wasn't a big surprise since we never doubted this game would have high visual quality after we learned that Buena Vista licensed Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3 for the title. The lighting was great and there were not hiccups in framerate during the intense action. One thing we loved about this part of the demo was that when Turok eliminated a foe with a knife, the game switched to third-person in order to show the attack; giving the game a cinematic touch.
