Prince Caspian has 20 different characters that you'll be able to control. While there no character selection for the player to make—the game gives a specific character for each mission—the playable characters will span a wide range, from the smallest mouse (which, despite its diminutive size, is quite capable) to a large centaur to a giant flying eagle. Every character has a weak and a strong attack; but supplemental attacks will vary depending on the character you're playing: some will offer a ranged attack, while others will come with grappling melee attacks.
Gameplay will cross multiple genres: about 60% will be combat, while the other 40% involves puzzle solving. In one of the combat sections we were shown, your characters had to protect a castle from a siege at the hands of enemy attackers. As for the puzzle sections, one was saw had the player character walking through a windy cave carrying a torch. Trying to move through a corridor while the wind was blowing would put out the torch and allow an attacking swarm of bats to come after you, but by waiting and navigating judiciously, fireplaces could be lit, keeping that section of the cave illuminated.
In addition to the main missions, levels will contain treasure chests (some in plain sight, while others are hidden), and you'll be able to find keys scattered around that you can use to open each one. However, with each chest requiring between 5 and 20 keys to open, you'll need to do some extensive searching before you can grab the prize. There'll also be other pickups, such as armor shards to help you reduce the damage you take in tougher sections.
