We all know it's coming, but that's about all we know. Details on story, setting features, graphics, or anything else relevant are completely unknown at this point, but if the past iterations are any example, expect something big from Rockstar.

This weeks it's a mad rush and almost a console gang war being thrown in our faces as Liberty City's Grand Theft Auto IV world hit us at Blockbusters advertising slogan: "meant to played" on the PlayStation 3, not the Xbox 360 This same tag showed up on Amazon kind of like a 'below the radar' advertising campaing (except you cannot hide an Amazon advertisement for too long now can you?) the ad now shows as: "Experience Grand Theft Auto IV on the PS3." An Amazon rep source told this gaming blog that the Sony wording was in fact "a campaign paid for by Sony" and that Microsoft will be "doing something similar next week." In related fuel-on-the-flames news, Rockstar president Sam Houser complains that the Xbox 360 hardware difficulties his developers where encountering delayed release for GTA 4. In an interview with 1up he mentiones that a lack of storage space on Xbox 360 discs and Microsoft's non-mandatory hard drive strategy were "problematic." "One of the problems with the 360, and it affects games like Grand Theft Auto if you think about how much content we put in the actual machine, is the fact that they don't have a significantly larger storage medium than the previous systems. It's a slightly bigger DVD disc," he said. The Nutshell: Ultimately this is simply a case of corporate debating and getting the votes for the correct "game version" candidate. Sony is lashing out in advance with its PS3 version being an adverising tactic and then the Xbox 360 issues potentially making GTA IV a bug ridden game (we think NOT), but the marketing on both sides, you'd have to admit have certainly made this a potentially 'worlds biggest selling' game prospect.
