GameGuideDogs: Battlefield Bad Company 2 Walkthrough, Help Battlefield Bad Company 2 Video Game Strategy GuideThe most crucial elements in developing a multiplayer shooter that can compete with the genre’s leading lights? Van Dyke readily gives us his opinion on the matter. ”You’ve really got to make sure that it’s easy to pick up the basics. Easy to get in and play, a lifetime to master,” he states. ”You don’t want the challenge to disappear right away. It’s a balance that a lot of developers probably struggle with - some have mastered and some are still getting there. We’re mastering it now and I think that for the type of multiplayer game we are, nobody can touch us with the vast experience we offer” Call him a braggart if you like, but the truth of the matter is that the DICE man isn’t far from the truth. The scope and scale of the action in Battlefield is nothing short of immense, especially with the improved destruction modeling expanding the potential for the user: generated set pieces that really make the experience unique. You can be in a tank; you can be on foot, you can be a co-pilot, you can drive a Jeep. We even have UAVs now that you can fly around and scout for your team-mates and be this eye in the sky. But you still have to worry about guys shooting your plane down, and while you’re manning it you’re exposed so someone could just sneak up and knife you. There’s an almost infinite amount of strategy and then there’s destruction thrown into the mix as well. There’s even terrain deformation so if you’re holding off a team really well and you go outside your base where you’ve been holed up, the ground will be riveted with craters. It’s just a really good feeling - you’re like ’man, we really jacked them up’ Grab the complete and full Battlefield Bad Company 2 Walkthrough right here at your very own GameGuideDog.com of course! (US members only) BATTLEFIELD: BAD COMPANY 2 ”BATTLEFIELD IS VERY new to consoles because they can support it now,” Van Dyke states. And with this era of online integration still young and hardware not long having been able to get the same player counts as PC titles, it’s hard to argue. ”It’s been really fun reintroducing Battlefield to a brand new generation - so to speak - those who have gone over to consoles and maybe couldn’t keep up with the Joneses when it came to building a new computer or upgrading it all the time. They can still experience Battlefield so they won’t have lost something that was maybe an old favourite of theirs.” But will we see any features return from the series’ console debut, Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, such as the ingenious Hot-Swap mechanic tha let you leap between allies at will? ”I thin for that game it was pretty cool, but here we wanted to make sure that there was personality - characters that people could grow to like, and I think reusing that concept would conflict with that.
