Game Help: Fallout New Vegas Walkthrough Fallout New Vegas Strategy FAQ PC PS3 XBOX 360

From Bethesda Softworks and the veteran RPG designers at Obsidian Entertainment (a team which includes members of the original Fallout and 2 teams) comes Fallout: New Vegas, a thrilling and chilling episode in the Fallout saga.

Fallout: New Vegas walkthrough – Episode 1: Beginning

STARTING OUT:
After the introduction scenes you'll be given the option to customize your character.
Select your gender (Note: Female characters no longer have a benefit over men, since male
charactershave an equivalent to Black Widow, which gives you an advantage over men, and
gives extra dialogue options. There are many men in Fallout New Vegas...) and change
your head the way you see fit, then take control of your character. Before walking to
the Vigor Tester, do a little exploring of the room first: Grab the [TODAY'S PHYSICIAN] from
the desk behind the chirurgic table; it's next to the type writer. To your right you can
find a [BLOOD PACK] and a [MED-X] from the medical cabinet, and inspect the Chemistry Set
on the desk with the computer: You'll need 25 Science to fiddle with this, so just take note
of this for now. Inspect the [SUNSET SARSAPARILLA CRATE] next to the desk and ignore the
[BROKEN 9MM SUBMACHINE GUN] lying on top of it for now. The destroyed cabinet
to the Doc's left contains [STIMPAK x3], [RAD- X] and [ANTIVENOM]. The [GUN
CASE] on the bottom shelf is also worth a look, and contains some ammo and a
Laser Pistol. In general, most boxes like these contain semi- random contents,
so this guide will give you the general description and locations of these
boxes.

THE VIG-O-MATIC VIGOR TESTER
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
Your SPECIAL stats (which stand for Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma,
Intelligence, Agility and Luck respectively) can now be adjusted. Each stat
starts at a base of 5 points, and you receive 5 spare points to spread over the
your stats. It's entirely up to you how you want to play the game, but overall
Strength and Intelligence are quite important, so it is recommended to spend
extra points on them. Charisma is required for very few perks and has very
little value - you can greatly compensate a low Charisma by putting extra points
in Speech.

If you want to customize your own build, feel free to do so. If you'd a player
who likes to snatch the best from everything, creating a very balanced all-round
character build, try the following starting stats (and adjust to your liking).
It can also be a good idea to look at the stats and perk sections [STA-1] and
[STA-3] respectively to see which perks require certain SPECIAL tresholds.

STR: 8, PER: 5, END: 8, CHR: 1, INT: 9, AGL: 6, LCK: 3
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
Tip: Never go over 9 in your initial build. You will be able to permanently
boost all your SPECIAL stats by +1 much later in the game.

Perky Awesomeness: With the above all-round build, the only notable perks you
miss out on are the ones that have CHR or LCK requirements.
Arguably, of these perks the only one of which it's a shame
you must skip, is the Better Criticals perk, which requires
the high amount of 6 Luck. With the above build, useful
Perks are maximized, and it serves as the basis for making
a superb all-round character.

When you're done with the SPECIAL stats, move to the other side of the wall and
loot the cabinet for [BOTTLE CAPS x8]. There are also various Pre-War Books in
these cabinets. In any case, sit down on the bench before Doc Mitchell to
finalize your character build.

SKILLS AND TRAITS
―――――――――――――――――
The Doc will ask you various questions. Depending on how you answer them, your
character build changes. You can still adjust the three skills you want to
boost in a menu after the dialogue options, and the same applies to traits.
Regarding skills, and this is only a personal recommendation, Lockpick, Science
and either Guns or Energy Weapon is a decent start. Regarding traits, it's
completely up to you, but I'd highly recommend Kamikaze since this boosts your
VATS AP by +10 points, and only reduces your Damage Resistance by -2.

Follow the Doc to the exit and he'll give you a bunch of goodies, the most
important being the [PIP-BOY 3000]. He'll also hand you [MOJAVE EXPRESS
DELIVERY ORDER x6], [BOBBY PIN x12], [STIMPAK x4], [BOTTLE CAP x18],
[LASER PISTOL], [20 ENERGY CELLS], and a [VAULT 21 JUMPSUIT].

You can now explore the rooms to the south of the Doc's House for some more
items. Remember that you can use the 'compass bar' on the lower left to see
which direction you're facing.

The cabinet in the southern hall contains an [AMMO BOX],[BUFFALO GOURD SEED x3],
and [FIRST AID BOX x2]. While the bedroom to the east doesn't contain much,
you can check the dresser, and there are also packs of cigs in the small cabinet
next to the bed, which you can sell back to Doc Mitchell for a small sum of
money. Just tell him you need medical supplies to open up the shop window.
The last thing to loot is the refrigerator. Exit to the worldmap.

Companions

Our Fallout New Vegas Companions Locations section shows the total of 8 companions, also known as followers, in the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 game. While you can have all companions, only 1 humanoid and 1 robotic can follow you at a given time. You will need to send the others to Lucky 38 Casino where you can swap companions anytime you want, if you choose to change them up at anytime.

Companions can only die if you are playing Hardcore mode, otherwise they can never die in Normal or any other difficulty modes. If you are playing in Hardcore mode and using companions, make sure to save periodically and before you go into battles.

By just recruiting 1 companion you will unlock the "Ol' Buddy Ol' Pal" Achievement worth 10 Gamerscore or a Bronze Trophy.

By recruiting all 8 of the companions in the game, you will unlock the achievement called "The Whole Gang's Here" worth 25 Gamerscore or a Silver Trophy.

Table of Contents

Companion Location #1: Craig Boone

Location: Craig Boone is one of the first companions you should come across near the start of the game. But he does not have to be the first nor may he be the first. There is no specific order.

Info and Quests: He is very easy to get recruit from the beginning to and he offers a lot of help to you, especially if you have gone ahead and decided to play Hardcore mode. He pairs great with either ED-E or Rex.

You can find him inside of the dino's mouth guarding the town of Novac after 9PM. You will need to complete the side quest "One For My Baby" that he gives you by talking to him in order for you to be able to recruit him to follow you.

Perk: Spotter automatically marks hostile targets in the area, this can help at night in case you do not spot an enemy or to differentiate between a friend or an enemy.

Upgrade 1: 1st Recon Beret that gives you +1 Perception and +5% Critical Chance. You will get this upon completing the 1st Quest with Boone.

Upgrade 2: 1st Recon Survival Armor or 1st Recon Assault Armor when you complete the 2nd Quest from Boone. The only difference between this armor is cosmetic, it is your choice as to which one looks better to you.

Companion Location #2: Rex

Location: Rex is a robotic companion, 1 of the 2 in the game. You will find Rex inside of The Kings which is located inside of Freeside. There is no specific order in which you have to recruit companions in.

Info and Quests: You will need to either pay 500 caps or have a Speech skill level of 60 to get past Pacer whom is guarding the door. You will get the 500 caps back right when you talk to The King inside.

You will first need to complete the Side Quest called "G.I. Blues" from The King before you get the Side Quest called "Nothin' But A Hound Dog" from him which is how you will get/recruit Rex. It will take approximately 40 minutes to complete both of these Quests, give or take a few minutes.

Perk: Search and Mark allows you to find unequipped chems, firearms, and ammunition within a short distance among other items such as hidden safes and hollow rocks while you are using the binoculars.

Companion Location #3: Cass

Location: Cass is another companion you should come across near the start of the game. She is located at the Mojava Outpost inside of the Mojava Outpost Barracks sitting at the bar drinking.

Info and Quests: You will need to first complete the Side Quest called "Heartache By The Number" to start the process of being able to recruit Cass which will lead you to another, but short, Side Quest called "You Can Depend On Me" from Alice McLafferty. Additional Side Quests may pop up during these Side Quests depending on the choices you choose and how you exactly are playing your game.

As shown at the end of the video, you cannot have more than 1 human companion in this specific group of 6 human companions that you can recruit. You will need to tell whoever may currently be with you, if anyone at all, to head to the Lucky 38 Casino so you can swap with him or her later.

Perk: Whiskey Rose give you and Cass more of a Damage Threshold when you both drink Whiskey. You will also not suffer from Inteligence loss from consuming alcohol and ignore the effects of alcohol addiction. This is great if you want to drink alcohol throughout your playthrough without having any effects from drinking as you would without it.

Upgrade: Hand of Vengeance or Calm Heart.

Hand of Vengeance allows Cass to do 15% more damage with all guns, and allow her to be better with guns. You will need to complete the Side Quest "Heartache by the Number" to get this.

Calm Heart gives Cass +50 Hit Points and allowing her to survive longer in combat.

Companion Location #4: ED-E

Location: You can find ED-E in Primm.

Perk: Enhanced Sensors allow you to detect enemies at an increased range as well as enemies will appear on the compass and can be targeted in VATS even when cloaked. This works even better if you use this along with the Spotter Perk from Craig Boone.

Upgrade: Enhanced Armor or Weapon when you complete the Quest.

Companion Location #5: Arcade Israel Gannon

Location: You can find Arcade in the Old Mormon Fort.

Perk: Better Healing allows you to regain 20% more health from all sources such as Stimpaks, Doctor's Bags, Food and much more.

Upgrade: Hoover Dam help or Tesla Armor as a gift when you complete the Quest.

Companion Location #6: Lily

Location: You can find Lily in Jacobstown.

Perk: Stealth Girl improves the duration of Stealth Boys by 200% and all Sneak Attack Critical Hits do an additional 10% damage.

Upgrade: Dialogue about Medicine after psychotic breaks or Administer Medicine in varying amounts to affect the frequency of psychotic breaks and combat damage.

Companion Location #7: Raul Tejada

Location: You can find Raul in Black Mountain.

Perk: Regular Maintenance slows down the condition of weapons and armor. In otherwords, it lengthens the amount of time you have with a weapon or armor. This can also counteract the negative effects of the Build to Destroy trait.

Upgrade: Vaquero or Full Maintenance.

Vaquero gives an increased combat ability.

Full Maintenance slows down the condition of weapons or armor much more, 75% slower this time.

Companion Location #8: Veronica

Location: You can find Veronica at the 188 Trading Post.

Perk: Scribe Assistant allows you to craft workbench items through Veronica's dialogue. In otherwords, she is a portable workbench. She also benefits in close combat skills when you complete the Quest.

Our final excursion is to Helios 1, a Poseidon Energy power station occupied by the NCR. There isn't always a good way to start off a game either, and here it just seems played out. Reputation with that bloated, bureaucratic faction grants you access to the station's inner sanctum, wherever a surfer fellow posing as a scientist, calling himself Fantastic, runs the factory at 1 apiece cent efficiency. Find forgotten the pre-war security structure and you may well re-route the power anywhere you like: To McCarran to benefit the NCR, to Fremont to help out the resident poor, evenly beyond the in one piece region... I just felt there could be more involvement. As an alternative or to the plant's quiescent defence structure, an insanely powerful orbital laser. I have to say that if you haven't see the Fallout: New Vegas walkthrough in the users area, you are missing alot of details. You can it follows that grasp it at will anywhere in the situation: Your own, confidential apocalypse.

Avellone uses it to walk on his NCR allies and devastate their troops. The business of making a game better than the others, to stand out, isn't easy though. In liability so, he demonstrates Obsidian's gleeful take on of the member freedom and destructive abandon that were the hallmarks of Bethesda's already legendary revival of Fallout. But there's in addition a richness, a grain here that authentically harks back to the previous relationship games - not remarkable authentically, agreed Obsidian's own relationship heritage.

GameGuideDogs: How to beat Fallout New Vegas with some Game Help

Walkthroughs: Fallout New Vegas Walkthrough Fallout New Vegas Game Guide

How to beat Fallout 3 New Vegas with our Walkthrough (PC PS3 XBOX 360) from GameGuideDog is here!

That grain is evident, over all, in the warped Americana of the locations: The distant warning, pledge and tainted glamour of the Strip; its humble echo in Primm, with its seedy disco intertwined in a rollercoaster; a wayside motel group of people calling itself Novac after a defeated rebuff Vanacies sign, with a sniper nest housed in the mime of a cheap dinosaur figure; the lonely, blunt rocks of Black Mountain surveying it all. Rather than presenting the action with simple tiered menus, the game places you right at the heart of the events. New Vegas will confer you a chance to unfold your own story somewhere that's at once existing and fantastic, familiar and utterly fantastical and perplexing. What's to say that the Fallout: New Vegas walkthrough is enough? Well they will update it for you if anything is lacking, right here at this site. And that, surely, is what role-playing games are all in the region of.

On occasion, in order to step up, you need to take a step back. Again, there are a few clichιs. Any time a character in Fallout: New Vegas deals with any catastrophe-it sounds just like a good game, film or TV show. Over the previous duo of weeks, Bethesda Softworks has revealed the world's gaming media what it thinks is the strongest line-up in its history, a line-up which announces its arrival as a publishing force to be reckoned with: Rage, the comeback gameplay experience from new stable-mates id Software; a particularly separate mental picture of the future of the FPS, Splash Damage's edge; modern-day dungeon-crawling in inXile's Hunted; and of module, Fallout: New Vegas, the follow-up to 2008's smash bash into Fallout 3.
