Guides: Shrek 3: Shrek the Third Walkthrough Strategy Guide (Shrek 3: Shrek the Third Walkthrough FAQ Help XBOX 360 WII PS2 PS3) Hits: Although there is nothing new or original in the basic platformer action of this game, it is a bright, sunny game that's not too hard, and it lets you clobber and smash your way through a lot of things as that big green ogre. It's pretty benign gameplay for kids to enjoy, and it's a nice little mental vacation for parents. If you've got a bad taste in your mouth from being shot to pieces in a vicious shooter, pop in Shrek to gargle and cleanse your brain with happy green ogre tonic. My son played through the game in a few days and enjoyed it, and I found myself enjoying it, too. Misses: Overall, the game feels like it was phoned in. It looks flat compared to the movie, like it was created for the lowest common denominator of computing power among the game platforms, since it's available on several. The platformer gameplay is cliched; the camera is not under your control and frequently gets squirrelly; you don't control which character you're playing at any given time; you can't save progress except between levels (and that takes way too long in one sitting for a short attention span kids' game); and you can't access the gift shop to spend your coins except between levels.
