We have had many requests regarding this title, and gladly have once again pulled through for our very loyal members. With the onset of the New Year, word is starting to seep out of what will appear at Namco's "Private Show" in Japan, where the company traditionally announces its new arcade machines. Rumors say the show will feature the debut of an arcade version of the already-on-consoles Soul Calibur 3, but one new title that has caught our attention is Time Crisis 4, which recently snuck into certain arcades in Japan for a pre-show beta test.
The biggest change for the Time Crisis series is a new system that has players switching between different points of view. When you see left and right arrows on the screen, you can point your gun at them to 'look' in those particular directions. It's a way of moving the idea of a 'camera stick' from a console controller to an arcade machine. We presume this means that you also will choose from two paths at various points in the game, which may be Namco's way of making sure that players don't tire of playing through the same sequences again and again. You can expect graphics to have the same level of detail that graces Tekken 5. Early rumors say the game runs on the System 256 hardware (which powered Tekken 5) so rest assured the graphics will be a nice jump from what we saw in Time Crisis 3.
