Square Announces The Last Remnant For 360, PS3
Square Enix made several announcements at its recently held Square Enix Party 2007, including a confirmation of The Last Remnant, the company's "first next-generation multiplatform RPG" set to launch on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 simultaneously in both Japan and North America.

 

The title is an original RPG that "[takes] advantage of the power of next-generation hardware to build a lush, real-time fantasy world." Gamers are able to control forces of up to seventy different units at once in "massive" battles where "countless enemies surround the player" as he's "threatened by numerous foes and saved in the nick of time by allies." The company promises that the play style and battle system will "challenge and invigorate players like never before."

Long ago, the world was filled with Remnants — mysterious artifacts from an ancient civilization. But as time passed, the powers of the Remnants began to shift the world's balance. As the rift widened between those who ruled and those who were ruled over, a new era dawned: one of countless frays brought upon the world by those enslaved by their own lust for power.

A thousand years later, the journey of one young man begins...
