Peter Jackson Speculates on Future of Halo Film
The Lord of the Rings himself speaks out. After the Halo film adaptation lost its financing late last year, fans of the series feared that their favorite Spartan would never grace the silver screen. Luckily, producers Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh haven't lost the faith. Jackson, famed director of King Kong and The Lord of the Rings trilogy, spoke openly about the stalled project in the May issue of Onfilm Magazine.

As reported by news website Stuff.co.nz, Jackson claimed that he expects the forthcoming release of Halo 3 to prompt studios 20th Century Fox and Universal Pictures to reconsider the project, which was canned in the wake of budgetary issues and suspected concerns over the selection of first-time director Neill Blomkamp. However, Jackson and Walsh currently have no plans to continue forward without Blomkamp, who previously directed commercials and short films.
