What do we like: Shadowrun, despite complaints that its not a roleplaying game which people wanted to see does bring something fresh and unique to shooters. It has a CounterStrikeesque commerce system, but instead of strictly upgrading weapons, the characters in Shadowrun are upgrading their abilities. And, instead of generic, run and gun first person shooting, the incorporation of magic into the engine is certainly sexy. Jumping up and popping the glide button to boost your jump and then immediately teleporting up through the floor to end up atop an even higher platform and then snipe a foe is pretty rewarding and fresh.

What we dont like: Shadowrun is being fashioned pretty strictly as a multiplayer game the only single player experience available is playing multiplayer against bots and tuning their AI to battle you. Given the possibility to tell a rich story with Shadowrun, its incredibly disappointing to see the game relegated to a shooter. Additionally, the games visuals stand in the shadow of the visuals of nextgen visuals like Mass Effect and Gears of War Shadowrun doesnt really cut it.

If players embrace the game, and give it a chance it looks bright, otherwise Shadworun may get lost on people who have nextgen goggles on.
