SHREK THE THIRD Walkthrough Video Game Strategy Guide (XBOX 360, WII, PSP, PS2, PC DS) Released just prior to the theatrical debut of Shrek the Third to maximize its synergistic potential, Shrek the Third for the PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii is more compelling as a brand marketing bullet point than it is as an actual video game.
Shrek The Third changed my opinion on movie to game adaptations. Although I'm not a particular fan of the "Shrek" movie series (only saw the first one), I still found this game to be rewarding and--most importantly-fun. First off, the graphics are stunning. It's as if the entire game is rendered in the same CGI employed in the films. This may be an easier feat for an animated adaptation, but I appreciate the effort either way. The only parts that look clunky are meant to. There's a playhouse with stick figure actors, so it would be strange if they looked as good as Shrek. Playing as the big green Ogre and other characters, you mostly brawl your way through enemies. The combat system is fairly simple, with a couple different kinds of kicks and grabs, but each fight is jazzed up with finishing moves. Each of these fits the comic attitude; you perform wedgies, spin folks around, etc.
