SUPER MARIO GALAXY Walkthrough (VIDEO GAME STRATEGY GUIDE FOR WII)
GAMEGUIDEDOG'S Members area has the full walkthrough! Find it here: http://www.wonderdogsoftware.com/GUIDES_9/SMG.htm Ok,ok, well we have to admit our previous review was kind of harsh on this cute little inovative title. Super Mario Galaxy has some very good reasons to actually go out and get yourself a copy. First and foremost, it's non-violent! Well I mean 'cartoon violence' in an acceptable format, I mean even I like to jump on a turtle every once in awhile. Super Mario Galaxy has recieved a majority of positive reviews from the gaming press. To quote Wiki-pedia.com: Environmental mechanics"New gameplay mechanics include Gravity Arrows, which make Mario gravitate in the direction that these arrows point, and Star Bits, which can be grabbed simply by moving the cursor over them. These have three purposes. For every 50 Star Bits he collects, Mario will be rewarded with an extra life, similar to how, in the other games, collecting 100 coins resulted in an extra life. He can also fire Star Bits to stun enemies, or spawn coins from some points. Finally, they can be used to feed Hungry Lumas that appear within the observatory and galaxies. When they are full, they form a new planet or galaxy, where an additional star can be found." We back up the take that eurogamer gave with it's first review and believe it says it best: It's simply an explosion of inventiveness - a total rejection of the cookie-cutter. There's almost no way of knowing when you go into a level what it's going to look like, what you'll need to do, or how long it will take. One star will be a cheeky diversion, the next a five-stage epic of delight and adventure. The abolition of standard tasks - particularly coin collecting in all its various red, blue and normal guises - means that the visual inventiveness is matched with mission design ingenuity. There are still things to collect, and bosses to beat, castles to scale and wrecks to dive, but the majority of the game's 120 stars feel like self-contained adventures, tiny labours of love full of detail and delight. Such is the game's flair and freshness that even the boss battles, of which there are many, are a joy - funny, spectacular, fair and unpredictable. Bowser, despite being reincarnated in his full monstrous glory, only just manages to hold his own. Characters: Mario, Peach and enemies new and old. How to progress through the game: Players run, jump and battle enemies as they explore all the planets in the galaxy. Since this game makes full use of all the features of the Wii Remote, players have to do all kinds of things to succeed: pressing buttons, swinging the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk, and even pointing at and dragging things with the pointer. Special powers/weapons/moves/features: Since he's in space, Mario can perform mindbending jumps unlike anything he's done before. He'll also have a wealth of new moves that are all based around tilting, pointing and shaking the Wii Remote. The ultimate Nintendo hero is taking the ultimate step ... into space. Become Mario as he traverses gravity-bending galaxies, traveling in and out of gravitational fields by blasting from planet to planet. Players experience dizzying perspective shifts as they run upside down through wild alien worlds that need to be seen to be believed. Whether you're surfing on a ray across an ocean in the clouds, rolling on a ball through a treacherous garden, or floating in a bubble over a poisonous swamp, there's no limit to the cosmic challenges you'll encounter!
