It's not that we don't like a clever challenge; it's in the past few months that often as we switch on our 360 or PS3 we are seeking a smidgen of mindless challange. So a gameplay experience has to be smart enough to switch the parade of fighting games that generally occupy our disc tray. Supreme Commander 2, the next entry to 2007's infatuated RTS-fest, certainly has its eyes on the 360 gamer prize. Though the first met with lukewarm reception on consoles, developer Gas Powered Games believes this time it'll be more worthwhile. For a start, while the first game was farmed out to a developer elsewhere that delivered a clumsy release, SupCom2 is being manifested internally. The gameplay experience has been pared down from the original's monumental portions to fit more comfortably on 360, but GPG boss Chris Taylor maintains that the current platform of vehicular upgrades and the condensed amount of units makes for a better gameplay experience anyway, with fewer uncalled-for units on the battlefield. What is there to look at that's new? Well, massive robots for a start. SupCorn2 may possibly prune back the amount of units this time out, but you'll still be rolling out the substantial guns with regard to the end of a battle. Our favorite? The Cybrannosaurus Rex - a giant robot dinosaur. It could be a method for all strategy games but they aren't so bad taking into account all the new additions in Supreme Commander 2.
