| There's
no studio more finicky with their release date schedules
than Blizzard Entertainment, but when the company
announces a shipping date, chances are they're pretty
serious about sticking to it -- we hope. This morning,
Blizzard issued a press release proclaiming Jan. 16th as
the drop date for World
of Warcraft's expansion pack, Burning
Crusade, in North America and Europe.
Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore will see Burning Crusade in "similar time frames," while finalized dates for China and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau are still pending. "With this expansion, we're looking forward to offering the same level of quality that players have experienced in World of Warcraft so far, and we'll continue balancing and play-testing up until launch to ensure that The Burning Crusade achieves that goal," Mike Morhaime, president and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment, in the announcement release. Good to hear. While no
WoW freak myself, I realize the lot of you are (cough, Dan
and Luke, cough), so
make sure to read up on 1UP's hands-on
impressions from the in-progress beta test from a few
weeks ago. |
