Lumines Live Packs Coming Next Week Gold Members to receive a free skin. Sorry, Silver. 01/18/2007 As Microsoft continues to find a happy medium between providing Xbox Live Gold subscription members exclusive and timed content and not screwing over Silver users, we've seen the next step, a step that actually makes more sense than the timed content: providing content you can't access without a subscription. At least this one makes a little more sense; you're getting more for what you pay for. Next week, Microsoft and Q Entertainment will deliver the Heavenly Stars skin pack, which will be a free download for Gold members for a limited time. The price for Silver users hasn't been revealed just yet, but the VS CPU Pack and Puzzle/Mission Pack will both have reduced prices from January 24th to February 21st for all Xbox Live users. After February 21st, the prices jump from 100 Points to 300 Points. The amount of bitching gamers did when Lumines Live originally launched seems to have resonated with all parties involved. However, these additions make a complete purchase of Lumines Live come to 2000 Points ($25) and jumps to 2400 Points ($30) after February 21st. Isn't that a tad much for an XBL Arcade game? Remember we chatted with Microsoft's Greg Canessa, Group Manager Xbox Live Arcade about the situation back when Lumines caused such a stir? "We're going to listen to customer feedback overall and we're going to look at the sales of the title. We tried some things that were a little different on that title [Lumines] and the experience, whether or not that messaging was the right messaging, I won't comment specifically on the messaging, but I will say that what we intended to communicate, what Q intended to communicate that there was additional downloadable content that would be available that further enhanced the experience."
