GDC 2007: Steven Spielberg Creating Wii Game Bite on the Wiimote to eat control Jaws' gaping mouth. Electronic Arts and famed director Steven Spielberg (E.T., War of the Worlds) announced a collaborative effort to produce three Spielberg-born videogames over the next few years, and while we've yet to see the fruits of the creative bond, EA Los Angeles VP and GM Neil Young revealed to GameDaily.Biz that one of the games is currently in development on Wii. "The first one, what I can tell you is what you'd expect, sort of, from a Steven Spielberg production. Steven's stories are intimate stories that take place around huge, world-changing events... sort of, big stories shown through the eyes of a small group. Doug Church is producing it... The second project is something Lou Castle is producing, one of the great producers in this industry, and that's one of the products we're building for the Wii. Very exciting and interesting..." Neil mentions that Spielberg's in the office for several hours each week to toss advice and oversee progress, so this appears something more than just slapping the director's name on an off-the-cuff idea he tossed to one of EA's development studios over a conference call.
